It was a journey of rescue, restoration, subtraction and addition for this

1919 Craftsman found by a young creative couple for their growing family.

As with much of the house, the kitchen was gutted to the studs. To the left was the old laundry porch.

New everything, including the linoleum floor and vintage stove. To the left is now the Breakfast Nook - see the floor plans, below.

With that morning light, your coffee is 10x better. The laundry was relocated to the remodeled basement.

The stairs were reconfigured to improve the layout of existing spaces and for the new Master Suite addition.

The back of the house was completely opened up for the new work. The enclosed porch was demolished and rebuilt for a new sun porch off the restored Parlour and a new balcony off the Boys' Bedroom.

-and by that, I mean that this addition completes the architecture of the original house, while adding to the Owners' enjoyment.

To the side of the completely restored front porch was added another gathering space. Beyond, you can see the once dilapidated porch has been rebuilt as the new open porch with balcony above.
